It was composed in 1955 as one of the songs for the NHK special program ”Autumn Festival” and was sung solo by Kumiko Ban. There have been some variations in the notation of the song title, but the official title registered with JASRAC and the notation in ”Sato Hachiro Children’s Song Collection” is ”I found a little autumn”. Since 1965, it has often been included in elementary school, junior high school, and high school music textbooks. In 2006, the Agency for Cultural Affairs and the Japan PTA National Council selected it as one of the ”Top 100 Japanese Songs”.
