This is the theme song for the 1970 Japan World’s Fair (Osaka Expo). Lyrics: Yoko Shimada, music: Hachidai Nakamura. It was announced in the Mainichi Shimbun newspaper on January 14, 1967, and on March 1 of the same year, a record was released by various companies with a collaboration between Haruo Minami, Kyu Sakamoto, Sayuri Yoshinaga, and other singers, with total sales exceeding 3 million copies. It became a million hit song. In 1970, a commemorative stamp for the Osaka World Expo was issued in Liberia, featuring the Minami. At the top of the stamp, some of the phrases from this song are spelled out in Japanese. Minami was the first time a Japanese celebrity appeared on a foreign stamp.
